This is a proportional symbol map that shows Wal-Mart’s in the U.S. per state. According to the key, the smallest dot represents 1 Wal-Mart’s per state, and the largest dot represents 100 Wal-Mart’s per state. This map shows that Texas is the only state that has the most walmarts, totaling 100. Proportional symbol maps which the areas of symbols are differentiated to the proportion or value of that particular item ( in this case: Wal-mart).
